The Giant Howarth Sleepout
Date: Friday 10th October 2025
This will be our 4th year where we’ve partnered with the Giants Community Trust at the Accu Stadium to host our ‘Giant Howarth Sleepout’.
The Giant Howarth Sleepout was launched in 2022, in collaboration with Huddersfield Giants Community Trust and Howarths Foundation. Both charities work tirelessly with limited resources to engage and support individuals in the respective fields, working in partnership on the Giant Howarth Sleepout, the ultimate goal is to support the greater needs of our community, supporting the vulnerable individuals in our community.
The sleepout is now an annual event in the calendar that looks to work with local businesses and the greater community to create awareness, raise valuable funds, help improve lives, display positive feelings that will support the vulnerable, through the work of both Giants Community Trust and Howarths Foundation.
About the evening:
Upon arrival you’ll be greeted and ushered to collect your cardboard to prepare for the night ahead. You’ll experience first hand what it feels like to sleep on the streets, and also hear individuals’ journeys who have experienced homelessness.
Hot refreshments will be available throughout the night and there will be some creative, crafts and fun and games if people want to join in.

All Year Round
“Would you like to come on a journey with me?
As I reach two and a half years clean from drugs and alcohol I am setting myself a new challenge, a massive challenge but one I need to do and I would love you to come on it with me so here goes....
I am challenging myself to lose over 40 kilo this year. This will be one of the hardest challenges I have ever faced and I don`t want to do it alone. This is a continuation of my recovery from recent mental
health issues, and I need your help.
After working so hard to get the life I have longed for, I want to be around for as long as I can so this is my next step.
I said to my partner recently I would just like to be able to walk up the hill to Pudsey without getting out of breath, but in reality that`s not all I would like. I would like to be able to go on long walks and play football with the grand-kids. I want to live again.
So let’s be honest...
I started my weight loss journey early in January 2025, weighing in at 136.1 kilos. I'll post on LinkedIn each week showing my progress, my highs and lows.
Knowing I have published my challenge will hopefully help me to continue.
I have also set up a JustGiving page linked to our charity Howarths Foundation. I am hoping people might be kind enough to sponsor my journey whilst we help the homeless and hidden homeless back into employment. I have set myself a target of reaching £2k, so every little helps.
I am looking for as much advice and help as I can get. I need it so please do get in touch.
Thank you in advance.”

Howarths Golf Day. On behalf of Howarths Foundation
16th June 2025
We will once again be hosting our annual Howarths Golf Day, on behalf of Howarths Foundation.
Last years event was a terrific success, raising over £5,000 for charity. We are looking for 20 teams to take part and still have a handful of place available for 2025’s event.
Former professional footballer and manager of Leeds, Blackpool, Preston and Huddersfield, Simon Grayson will bring a star-studded celebrity team – it’s not to be missed.
The day will begin with breakfast, followed by practice sessions, group photographs, 18 holes of golf and then onto the 19 th for refreshments. This will soon be followed by an introduction from Pete Emmett, our charity auction and finishing with a lovely dinner and entertainment.
The golf itself will have plenty of competition on show – with nearest the pin, longest drive and team
awards up for grabs. The prizes cannot be missed.

The Stephen Gautrey Challenge Cup
Sunday August 17th 2025
Sponsored by: OCU Group
Brought to you by Howarths and Howarths Foundation.
We're delighted to be involved in The Stephen Gautrey Challenge Cup again in 2025.
On Sunday 17th August, a Howarths XI will once again kick-off against a Celebrity XI, hosted by our friends at West Riding County, Leeds.
This is in memory of the late Stephen Gautrey, a very dear friend of ours, who lost his battle for life on January 14th, 2023 aged 45.
Last year's event was a massive success, raising money for charity and seeing so many great people come together to support such an important cause.
Howarths XI won the game – a fiercely contested match which was a thrill to watch, bringing home the trophy which sits proudly in our Cleckheaton offices.
Join us again this year.
