The Howarth Foundation The Howarth Foundation recently featured on BBC Radio Leeds, in particular the Richard Stead Breakfast Show. The interview covers some of the fundraising the Leeds Utd Foundation NCS programme have been doing on behalf of our charity. What is NCS? The National Citizens Service programme is being run by Leeds United Foundation in the North Kirklees area. This programme is aimed at young adults (school leavers) to deliver a four week programme which is broken down in to three parts; two weeks residential which covers life skills (cooking, cleaning etc) and allows outdoor activities. The third week they meet with their Social Action Partners, who are local charities, where each charity pitches to the groups to be chosen by them and in the fourth week the groups plan how they can raise awareness of their chosen charity and/or fundraise. Purpose of teaming up with BBC Radio Leeds: The broadcast will allows the students the opportunity to raise awareness of The Howarth Foundation, talk about what they have done so far, what they have learnt and why they chose to fundraise for THF.
